Rattling head lining?

Featured Replies

Evening all

I have a rattling head lining that is doing my head in!!!! as soon as i put my hand on it it stops... the last thing i wanna do is take the lining out, does anyone know a qick fix?

Also one of my rear wheel bearings has gone for sure, i can hear the sound - how do i tell which one?

Don't know about the headlining, but to check the wheel bearings jack the car up & spin the wheels you should be able to hear it grinding if it's gone. Also hold the wheels & check for play by rocking the wheels bottom & top, & side to side Hope that makes sense.

I recently had a front bearing changed, and although the rear wheels do not turn this should still apply.

When you negotiate a bend in the road, if it is to the left the cornering forces will push towards the drivers side of your car. And vice versa with a right hand bend the force should be applied to the passenger side of your car.

For me this was noticeable, but try to listen if it is worse on one side or the other.
