So who's still awaiting build/delivery news?

Featured Replies

I'm sure I'm not alone....

Ordered 9 August (O/N 20096676) originally given Wk42; added Electric seats - slipped to WK 45 now NO date!

Talk about frustration!

Seems nothing my dealer or SUK can do to expedite - just hoping I get a trustworthy delivery date soon!

Trouble is I got a cracking deal, the car is exactly what I want and I've lost my argument with 'er indoors that we only need one car!

Cheer me up please emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Oredered my 170 July 17th. Orginal build week 41. Also added electric seats. Now confirmed build this coming week (48).

Ordered my Elegance 140 (with sunroof) 4 May (week 18), being built next week....allegedly. Still, they say all good things are worth waiting for.

Pete

Ordered mine (Elegance 1.2TSi DSG) end of October, no provisional build date as yet. Anticipating the car around next April.

Ordered my 4x4 170 Elegance with satnav, heated windscreen, RRP, TPM, mudflaps on 18 August; added electric driver's seat and variable boot floor about 3 weeks later, when I was given build week 48. Checked three weeks ago, now no build week. Skoda UK told me (1) waiting time from mid-August is up to 29 weeks, ie that could be April delivery(!) but also (B) that no build date is actually a good sign because it means the car is in a queue being juggled according to the model/options (apparently 170 engines are in great demand and so in short supply - but I think others have been told this about various engines/options). According to Skoda UK, early allocated build weeks are entirely meaningless and all that counts is when the dealer is informed of a definite date, usually no more than two weeks in advance of actual build (after which it is expected that cars will be handed over to customers within 3-4 weeks).

So, just keep waiting ... and watching the second-hand prices going up!

I ordered my 140DSG Elegance 3rd week August and heard from my dealer yesterday that it is being built wk 1 next year (having originally been advised week 47).

We'll have to see if that date sticks but assuming it does and a c. 3 week delivery time from the factory, it'll arrive end Jan / early Feb. I'm thinking I might ask the dealer to delay registering until Mar 1 for an 11 plate... but then again I suspect I'll be so keen to get my paws on it I may just take delivery asap.

Incidentally the dealer also confirmed I would get £250 credit towards servicing for the "electric folding mirror" **** up - works for me as it was the electric driver's seat I was most interested in.

Good luck waiting all!!

Interesting - your original week 47 would fit with my week 48, given that you ordered at the same time as me. But how does your dealer know it's a week 1 build when according to Skoda UK the build week is only known two weeks in advance? It would save all this nervous energy if only we got one consistent tale from the parties involved.

Ordered Monster III first week November with a less popular and Pedestrian 110 4x4 motor :giggle: and like with Monster I & II within a couple of weeks had a provisional build week :)

Number I came forward from WK45/09 to being built WK37/09 but sadly missing options :(

Number II also allocated WK45/09 and built WK42/09

Number III allocated WK05/11 and daft as it sounds I'd like it to stay there; should be OK for an 11 plate as I gather to claim the pre VAT increase you need to register within 2 working weeks of delivery to dealer :wonder:

As a side note the wifes Fabia ordered second week June this year arrived first week September; allocated WK34/10, came forward a week then back to WK34 due to the flooding at a suppliers.

Regards,

TP

Ordered CR170 Elegance with heated screen, electric seat (and electric foldly mirrors ) and front parking sensors on 24th Sept which was week 38. Expected week 6 although not sure if that is build or delivery. If the latter, and assuming it arrives on time which I know is some hope, then I will defer pickup if at all possible until March to get the 11 reg plate.

Of course changes in production in January will not doubt mess the whole lot up anyway.

Who knows? When I called Skoda UK at the beginning of the week, they said I should talk to my dealer but that I should "not expect delivery before Feb/Mar". Come Saturday and Citygate tell me SUK have "confirmed build week 1".

We'll see. Patience is a virtue that I don't possess!!

Well I'm still waiting news of when mine will be in the UK.

You think you have it bad. There is an Octavia to be owner who is on about an 11 month wait at the moment.......

He has ordered a 1.6CR 4x4 estate.

I ordered my 140PS SE 4x4 in early August and was originally told it had Build Week 47 allocated (so delivery should have been before Xmas). The BW then disappeared altogether, but the broker still reckons I'll get it before the end of the year, despite sending me two emails saying "delivery forecast for January". "Ah, that's a worst-case scenario", they told me......

Forgive me for feeling like a mushroom. Broker and dealer are keeping me in the dark and feeding me on ****!

I ordered a 140 SE 4x4 (+ heated windscreen, heated seats) on the 18th August and I've just been told it was built last week. (Could really do with it now given the near foot of snow we've got and more forecast to come!)

My SM is now in the UK at Sheerness. Awaiting delivery to dealer now.....emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I think mine was built the same week as yours - week 47 - but as far as I know its still waiting for a ship at Emden.

Now I know its built - I have the chassis number - time seems to be dragging even more slowly.

The winter wheels get together with the winter tyres on Friday, then its waiting for the car toput them on.

Got he winter wheels early to take advantage of Michelins' £40 fuel voucher offer which ends today - equivalent to 10% off the tyres - and James at Allams tells me mine should arrive in the UK in the next couple of days. Then it depends how long the transporter people take to get it from the docks to Allams.

If the weather forecast is anything to go by, then my SM is going to be snowed in at sheernessemoticon-0140-rofl.gif

I'm bored.

All this snow and no Snow Monster.emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

I hate this waiting game. It is so close......It's the hardest part of the wait.

Still no news on mine - although I did email that Mr William Fisher yesterday about the changes to the Rough Road Package, suggesting we ought to now get a refund now as it was a reduction in what we ordered and are paying for (plastic sump guard, removal of rear covers, rear foils now standard) - I also asked for confirmation of the compensation arrangements for orders that slip by more than 18 weeks...

Response awaited

I got my response yesterday from Will Fisher re the £150 compensation and also a call from my dealer to say they had received a copy of the email and were aware of what I was owed.

I have emailed Will Fisher again re the RRP and copied it to the MD of Skoda UK. I also referred them to threads on this site where there is ample evidence of changes to the package!

Hi - I spoke to SUK and Marlborough yesterday - they confirmed that the goodwill gesture is between £150 and £300, depending on the length of wait (past 18 weeks).I've been waing since May, so qualify for the max. (That'll help towards the winter tyres!)

An advisory bulletin has gone out to dealers. The arrangement is that the dealer notifies SUK when the car is handed over, and HO then contacts the customer to ascertain how to recompense - servicing/accessory credit, M&S vouchers etc

Just had an update!

Build week provisionally week 8 2011 now! (From week 42/10 originally) - so looking at an '11' plate now and no need for Winter tyres this season! Will Fisher still doesn't have a response on the Rough Road Package changes.....something else to hassle him over!

I'll keep you posted, obviously.

Not a penny for my dealer until then.....sadly

It's getting ridiculous - the delay, the conflicting tales about whether build weeks well into the future can be given or not (and whether they mean anything or not) and the apparent inability of a major manufacturer to find out what they fit as an option to their cars!

Is nobody in the organisation prepared to put their hand up?
