Old Skoda owner - new member

Featured Replies

Hi. I have been driving a Skoda Octavia for about 10 years now and am still impressed with them. I originally bought one because a freind who worked for Volkswagen suggested I try it when he heard I was after a second hand passat - and for the money I intended to spend I bought a new Octavia. At the time I was doing about 100 miles a day going to and from work and taking it easy was able to get over 70 miles to the gallon out of it (1.9l dieisel). Although I do a lot less miles now I am still disappointed if I get less than 60 mpg from a tank. I am now on my second one - it is the only time I have ever bought the same car again.

My wife and I test drove a Yeti in August last year and she immediately decided she loved it. A Snow Monster is now on order and is due to be delivered in March 2011. However, I carried out a bit of research before ordering and that was when I discovered Briskoda. The advice and help from other Skoda drivers has been tremendous and hearing the views of other Yeti owners immediatly dispelled any doubs I had about the decision to buy after one, fairly short, test drive.

I went for the 1.2 DSG Elegance and thought everything I needed would be included. If it wasn't for the forum I would not have realised a heated windscreen was an option on the 1.2 which will be a real bonus when my wife is de-frosting on a cold morning - it's a big monster compared to her Polo. So thanks all Forum members (shame about the folding mirrors!)
