No heat from heater.!

Featured Replies

Got yet another problem with the Octavia...... I am getting no heat from the heater when it is on hot.!!! I have recently had a new head on it and it took ages for them to get the air out of the coolant system but the heater was working fine till this morning. The car isn't using any coolant, the oil and water aren't mixing or anything sinister, so what can it be.??? Could it be another air lock.??? I have driven approx 800 miles since the head was done so surely it would all be out by now.??? Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated...... John

Still got an air lock by the sound of it.

Is the bottom rad hose getting hot?

I dunno I will have a squeeze and get back to you.!!! Thanks for the reply

It can be a right pita getting air locks out.

Put the heater on max hot. Remove the header tank cap, start the engine & get it up to normal operating temp then get someone to hold the revs at 3000 to 3500 rpm & start squeezing the bottom hose. top up the header tank as necessary.
