Electric Window Fell Out

Recommended Posts

Hi

This morning when putting my window on the drivers door back up the window seemed to drop out and fall to the bottom of the door. You can still hear the motor going if you opperate the switch however the window is now open and will not close.

Is this problem common and what do I need to fix it and how?

Typical its the day it snows too..

Cheers

Probably the plastic clips are broken. iirc is is a pretty common fault. It has not happened to me (yet), so I am not versed with all the details but I am sure someone will be along soon with a few more words of advice. Otherwise have a search on here and see what you can find.

Couple of options covered in this thread: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/173089-window-regulators/

Happened many moons ago to my Mk1.

Driving along the motorway and BANG!, drivers window dropped out of nowhere - then the rain and wind poured in.......

The interim fix was to take off the door card, manually push the window back back up and then duct tape it to the to the door frame. (I made long loops that stuck to both sides of the glass over the frame)

The permanent fix was a new window regulator.

Hi All.

I have been fighting with this problem almost 4 years.

Every replacement clip I have fixed have been broken immediately or within 1 week.

I have found different solution. I have redesigned it and made it solid and durable.

You can find the fixing guide on my website:

http://www.briskoda.net

and buy from ebay:

I am working on new front doors electric window regulator Clips (Sliders) and going to publish soon.

Trust me, this makes me really happy and brings me a lot of design experience and satisfaction.

Regards.
