Anyone else had a problem with their driver door lock during the cold weather? I couldn't open mine this morning and had to get in the passenger door side. All other doors work. Once I open the door from the inside it shuts fine. Once I dont lock it with the remote it also opens from the outside. However once I use the remote to lock it the door fails to open with the door handle moving in and out .

Sounds like a dodgy locking/unlocking mechanism to me, off to the dealers.

This has happened to me this morning. Its wa -4.5 and I blipped the doors and they opened normally but now they dont shut or blip lock. I'm guessing that something has iced up inside teh door, or worse something has now snapped. I can open and close teh door from inside but not outside.

Same in Luxembourg, but it's Brass Monkeys here! No, the doors open fine from the outside (save frozen door seals..) , but once inside I cannot get out! So I arrive back home pathetically honking the horn in the drive until Mrs. Maxbert appeared at the door,with the facial expression basically saying WTF's up with you? Also, the window had frozen shut, cue much comical panto-style gesticulating until she finally (Bless...) got the message!

Fault as such? Doubt it, more like a little water ingress bu@@ering the mechanicals about- Today was fine, although still cold!

Mate, If I'm got right, you've got the same situation with us in China.

Many of us have met this problem after we washed cars and the tempreture fell under 0.

It seems some water slip through the crack of the door handle and into a some kind of wire inside the door.

When the tem is really low, the water frozen and the wire can't work.

In China ,the wire is in a cover. We clean the water and plug both the bottoms of the cover with some gum.

So water can't get through any more.

m8 i had the same prob last week my doors would open from the inside but not the outside i had to climb through my boot 1 morning mind you it was - 13 but my locks are ok now didnt wont to force them incase i did any damage

I`ve had the same problem with my car. When I return from holiday after 14 days and the car had been left outside in the cold (-10) I was able to get the driver door open, but I would not close. After a bit of bad language and som fiddling with the door lock I mangage to get it closed. It has only happend this one time. Even this week when the temperature dropped to -16 the doors open and shut normally. Anyways I will try to force som lubricant into the lock just to be safe.

Same problem but with passenger door. Would not open from outside if temp fell below zero overnight.
