First couple of mods, advise please...

Featured Replies

I'm new, so be nice!!! lol

Getting an 02 Octavia vRS next week, and been reading old posts for about an hour now, deciding what to do...

Comes down to 3 things (in order):

1. Carbonio CAI

2. Dump Valve - not sure which one

3. Jabba re-map

Could anybody reccomend a dump dalve to use.. for this, i'm really after a loud-ish noise. Have read about the Bailey DV26 & 30, as well as the Forge DV007... but not sure which is louder, or are there any others around which are maybe louder?

Would the above make a nice setup?

Sorry for all the questions! Just excited to become part of the new Skoda crew! lol!

Thanks in advance!

I've had a little drive of a Jabba'd Octy with a Carbonio CAI. Sounds very nice. Nice loud pssht :D

Can't comment on the DV as I have a Furby.

And welcome to the SKoda crew :D

Welcome :) I have a Forge 007P on mine and it makes hardly any noise, so maybe a differant one would suit you better, i don't think any are very noisy as they are recirculating valves rather than acual atmospheric valves. As for the remap, i'll tell you tomorrow night after mine has been done :D

I can also highly recommend an uprated rear anti roll/sway bar, it transforms the handling. Eibach or Neuspeed do these, do a search for comments.

offer still there to have a listen to my DV like i said in the PM it is quite loud...if i was you id do all mods before remap will save time going back for 'tweeks'...like if you put a diffrent exhaust on or air filter etc....

Carbonio a must, sounds awesome....:D

Forge 007 dv sounds great through the carbonio in reverse fitment but causes a bit of a lag, so run it the correct way round.

Do all your bolt ons before remap so map takes into account your mods, 100 cel cat certainly frees things up.....;)

I would personally recommend you get the Neuspeed Rear Adjustable Anti-Roll Bar first to tighten up the handling of the your Octavia 1st.

then go onto other mods, the Carbonio CAI and DV sound good, quite loud i have to say but if you don't mind that then go for it.

but you will be starting on the slippery slope once you start, there is many of us on here who are still sliding down the slope and gaining speed!!!

if your in the Essex area then i'd more than happy to let you have a listen to my Octy.

Interesting point about the Forge 007, is that it's audible from inside the car, at least when combined with a Jabba remap and a green filter..

I gave a mate from work a lift the other day (fellow car nut) and he spotted it straight away.. "Have you got a dump valve on this now???" ;)

I suspect it will be even more audible with the Carbonio or similar.

The 007P is more 'noticeable' when reversed although I can't say I've noticed any significant lag as a result. But as said it's of recirc design so you won't get anymore noise unless you add a CAI. Alternative is to drill the airbox aswell and use the stock filter or a green element....
