Sonar or part worn Continentals

Featured Replies

Has anyone here used Sonar tyres before?

I'm looking to get a set of cheapo winters as my T1Rs really were crap over the past few days, and I can't really afford too much.

I've found a brand new set of 4 Sonar SX608 M+S 205/50/16 for £170.

I've also found the option of a set of 4 part worn continentals TS790 M+S, with 4mm tread left, however they are 205/55/16. They are cheaper though.

I'm tempted to go with the continentals, however I've never run part worn tyres.

Which would you go for?

Im sure Ive read that winters tires ideally need replacing at 4mm! The part worn ones have probably come off of a vehicle for that very reason?

Id always go with the new option personally.
