Out in the Scout

Featured Replies

Well I’m converted ! WOW ! What an amazing vehicle !

The Scout is my first FWD vehicle and today has been out shopping at the insistence of my Mrs.

I'm running standard Dunlops and the the car coped with ease. This included snow deep enough to be heard on the underside.

I passed half a dozen stuck vehicles by just driving around them through the thicker snow !! They must have though I was taking the **** because of the smile on my face lol !

Some of the hills I went up were pretty steep. I saw walkers stopping to watch me struggle up the hill like the rest. A struggle that never happened !

Brilliant. Delighted with the way it's performed.

Only trouble is other road users which is why I've left it at home tonight.

Yep, agree totally. Been having great fun driving up the hill to my house covered in sheet ice/snow - it just seems to find grip where you wouldn't think there was any, and that's just on the standard Pirellis, no problem at all......unfortunately, coming down the hill again isn't quite so much fun!

there's nothing more scary than sliding down the hill with your foot on the brake, the trick is having the balls to let go & dab very gently! If all else fails head toward the ditch or if there is a grassy bank/verge this will generally slow you down & give you traction - trouble is you have only seconds to think about doing it before it's too late - instinct screams at you to keep your foot on the brake!
