6 months on....

Featured Replies

Well it's been roughly 6 months since I purchased my vrs and thought I'd comment on how good it's been in the 3000 miles I have driven it.

As soon as I collected my black Vrs me and the girlfriend packed it full of luggage for a last minute holiday in Cornwall I was immediately impressed with the drive and the looks it got off people,I love the way these look standard so it's good to see non owners appreciating it too!

With the recent bad weather I have been amazed at how well its coped in the foot or so of snow and ice compared to previous cars I have owned, the car has a good set of rubber so it maybe partly down to that but neverless it's still coped very well.

Previously I have owned an A3 Audi 3.2 dsg which had quattro but that was terrible in the snow with the back end wanting to go a different way to the front and led to some pretty scary driving!

Other then the drivers window giving up and the cold weather playing with my coolant sensor the car is everything I hoped for I'm just a bit sad that now I have my girlfriends 2.0 alfa 147 as she got fed up with the handbrake being frozen on an the heater not working so she has the pleasure of driving my Vrs until the weather breaks a little.

For the money I paid for my 54 reg vrs hands down there isn't much better car out there!

Great positive post there.

Good to see these kind of post.

Mine is up on axle stands at the moment waiting for a replacement rear spring as it broke last friday. .

Get her to sell the italian scrap and get her own octy :giggle:

Totally agree, lad at work has one, him and the mechanic at Alfa go drinking together ;)

She has had terrible problems with her car the head gasket broke recently and it cost 1500 to replace probably more then the car is worth!!

The heater has packed up,the electrics have a mind of their own and it's a bit hit and miss to drive.

The only plus points are the lovely interior but she has her eyes on an s3 so give it a few months and I'll be wanting to drive her car!!
