EVO long term Yeti

Featured Replies

Just got my subscribers copy if EVO and they finally managed a lap time round the Bedford circuit. Result? 1 min 33.7 secs which is equal to a Focus ST and quicker than a Clio 182 Trophy and a Clio 197 Cup! Result!!

Apparently the brakes were mashed within a lap but they were very complimentary about the handling.

... not to be forgetting that their Yeti was on Dunlop Dirrezzoile (?) track day tyres for this; but even so pretty nifty result for an SUV.

Not surprised their brakes were 'mashed'; IMHO the 288mm front discs on the 1.8TSI are inadequate, plus I don't like the OEM pads.

They should be using the 312mm discs as fitted to the CR170 Yeti and Octavia vRS and as I will be upgrading my CR140 Yeti DSG to with Ferodo DS2500 pads.

Plus Bedford can really put some heat into the brakes.

Couldnt agree more! The 312mm setup with DS2500 pads should be a big improvement imo.

EVO certainly seem to be liking that Yeti and having fun with it along the way.
