Wipers

Featured Replies

Hi, I could do with a little help. My front and rear wipers have refused to turn off and the headlight wash is going every few seconds. Any ideas as I am just about to get on a ferry?

Thanks

Yes, remove the trim inside the tailgate and unplug the rear wiper motor that should stop it and the fronts will work normally again.

You need a new rear wiper motor.

Si, thanks for the quick reply. Once the rear wiper was unplugged everying else worked normally. Looks like I will be having a new rear motor for Xmas! Thanks once again

No problem, glad to be able to help. I had a similar problem last year and found the answer here on Briskoda too.

You can try dismantling the wiper motor it as it will be full of old screenwash and rust. Clean it, dry it all out, electrical contacts included and it may be OK for a while, but the only real solution is a new motor I think.

You could always remove the rear wiper motor altogether and fit a blanking grommet, would save you some cash. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Happend ones in a VW Polo of my dad, it was the wipers relay, its located under the dash

Brilliant - saved me a lot of time in subzero temps. Don't know if I would have ever found this solution anyway.

Rear Wiper has not parked properly for a while until you get out and wiggle the blade. Front wiper was on permanently with no intermittent, started in -8C last week so thought it was the cold.

Great result - cheers.
