I have a 2010 (UK) Octavia Elegance Hatchback and I will be taking it to Portugal when we move there, within the next 3-4 months.

My question is.................... Can the headlights (Which are standard UK type) be altered for Continental use or would they have to be replaced. If so any idea of the cost of purchase?

I’ve had a look on the net but most seem to show replacements for the Mk 1. and refer to just the UK type.

If you have projector lights you can alter the dip yourself. No need to change headlights. We have used our Rover 75 which has projector headlights for 3 years in Italy with no problem. We just switch the dip direction while on the channet tunnel, takes about 2 minutes. The Octavia has the same system. If you are getting xenons you can set them via Maxidot to give a flat beam. OK for holidays but I'm not sure it is legal for permanent use.
