Removing oil pressure sensor connector

Featured Replies

Hi

I need to remove the electrical connector on the oil pressure sensor (to replace thge sensor) but I've struggled with it and cannot get it off.

What is the technique needed to get the connector off please

It's on aFabia 1.4 (2000)

Thanks.

You'll need a small screwdriver into the latch on the connector. Same as on the coolant temperature sensor:

You may find the sensor itself is very difficult to get out - I left it to the garage when it went on my wife's car...

Thanks, it does look awkward to get out.

FWIW, I actually find the Z-shaped Allen keys you get with IKEA furniture work a treat with those connectors!

Hope you get it sorted - a great big socket would probably have worked a treat getting the sensor out, I just didn't have one big enough at the time...

It's still jammed, I was able to release a connector on another sensor no problem, but this one's still jammed. I'll get my mechanic to swap it over, not worth causing more damage by brute force I reckon.

Don't blame you...
