I have tried doing a search on here, but I dont think it likes me.

When I open the doors on my octavia after rain water runs out of the doors, is this normal? I have never had a car before that does this.

yes mine dose it and rear doors. i awlays open all the doors after washing it,

My drive has a slight slope and a veritable waterfall comes out of my doors after it has been raining.

Seems to be normal..........but quite what it will do for the internal state of the doors after a few years is an open question.

PS. My wifes Fabia 2 also does this, but not quite as much as the Octavia.

Question is - how does it get in - past the window seals?

Provided the water is running out of the door drainage holes, it shouldn't be a problem. Water running down the outside of the window has to go somewhere and provided it's not out between the door and trim card, there is nothing to worry about.

When you open the door, any water lying between the drain holes will move and drain normally.

I've only ever had one car with a sunroof, and hated it, the first frost after getting it, the seals shrank and it rattled forever more. Never having another one ever again.Plus an open sunroof went with the joke of how water could be pouring from the doors as they open

It can be due to the choked sunroof drainage lines.it can be cleared by blowing air through the drain pipes.
