recommended clutch? And possible gearbox problem.

Featured Replies

Hi All..

My clutch has started slipping in the last week or two, only under load... Say in 3rd gear upwards while under full throttle from 2500 revs, the rpm will spike up then drop down again before I get prepelled forwards, im guessing when the clutch grips.

Can anyone recommend a replacement clutch, or should I stick with the standard item? My car is completely standard, it is a 2005 mk1 vRS with 134k on the clock.

Also, for about 15000 miles 1st gear has been noisy, its a whiny noise. Seems to be ok in all other gears. My gearbox type is EHA, im looking into this as it may be worth getting sorted now while the clutch is replaced.

Could anything other than the gearbox being knackerd cause the noise, low or old transmission fluid maybe??

thanks all.

chris

Theres loads of threads on doing a smf conversion on here. You can get new flywheel, clutch and fitted at an indy for under £400.
