electric windows

Featured Replies

One for Ross, K, Ade, et al,

the one touch function on my electric windows now work intermittently.....obviously if I turn off the car and turn back on the work for a little while.....generally the one touch works for down not up...I can still close the windows by holding up the switch but sometime even this doesn't work.

Each time I take it to the garage the bl**dy thing works.

Dodgy electric window controller or something else?

Also need the the temp sensor changing but would it be frowned up if I mentioned that I've had a look at the error codes?

Exactly the same problem on a 02 Octy TDi, the "gentle touch" switching operation became a joke, then failed completely. One shot was intermittent. Dealer replaced the whole switch assembly without any argument; problem solved.

:)

My window electronics have already been replaced (when the lock for the windows in the back stopped working), but that didnt stop the window rolling up/down "bugs". YMMV ofcourse.

And by the looks of it, my temp sensor is on the way out too... Do two examples make it a common fault? ;)

Mine has the same roll back problem.
