anyone encountered them? checked ross tech and it tells me to check this that and other! i'm hoping for a definitave answer before i started pulling it to pieces

Bank 1 sensor 2 is referring to a postcat sensor, but as you already don`t have a cat (sig) just ignore it or map out the postcat lambda sensor.

got a sports cat, would that be causing it?

I don`t think so, probably the fault is in the connector ( I would check that first) or in the sensor it self. This is electrical problem in my opinion, it has nothing to do with the performance of the cat.

If it was, one of the first errors would be 16804 - Efficiency below threshold...

But as I already said, ignore it because the second sensor only monitors the efficiency of the catalyst, it doesn`t influence the performance of the motor in any way.
