Volvo V40 - headlight wiper problem

Featured Replies

I wondered if anyone could help my sister. She has a Volvo V40 Sport (03 reg), which has headlight wipers, that decided to go a bit wrong yesterday. She tried the screenwash quite a few times yesterday, which was frozen up, and each time the screenwash is sprayed the headlight wipers wipe the headlights. The drivers side has decided to pack up. The wiper got stuck in one position and is making an awful noise, like a motor switched on continually. You can hear it in the car without the stereo on. I had a look for her last night and I couldn't seen any connections on the headlight, which control the headlight wiper. I tried getting at the fuse box to disconnect the fuse, although its in a stupid position (right under the dash in the drivers footwell), and at -5 I wasn't particularly wanting to spend hours on it!

Does anyone know how you get at the motor that controls the wiper for the headlight? Or any ideas on how to fix it? I always said she get another Skoda!
