Just thought I'd re-heat this thread to mention that I have experimented with the handbrake without any damage to me or the car. The buzzer does come on. I'm surprised I didn't notice the warning light before but it was bright sunlight. I can't find any mention of this in the manual.

The indicator thing is obvious when you think about it. I realised that the switch also turns on the side lights as parking lights but didn't make the connection.

Nice to know I haven't got a fault.

You want to try leaving your headlight cover on too loosely. That certainly gave me a fault (at least a quickly cured one) :(

There never seems to any problems with Skoda's nowadays - pleases me no end! :)
