I've had my HTC desire for 6 weeks now and it connected to Columbus via the bluetooth first time, no probs.

Last Thursday it stopped connecting. I can pair it and can connect as a media player but it will no longer connect as a phone.

Tried repairing and that works but when Columbus tries to connect it just says unable to connect.

My old phone Sony K800 connects fine. So has something changed on the HTC bluetooth? Not many things you can alter setting wise on the HTC....

Any suggestions gratefully received.

have you tried re-booting the Phone? - battery off for a min or so?

My Blackberry Freaks out every nower and then, and this is the only solution.

Still puzzled why it worked for 6 weeks then suddenly stopped.

Had similar problem one day last week with my Desire. First connection problem I've had in 12 weeks of having the car.

I was able to sort it more or less straight away. BT was working, got out of car for 5 mins, got back in and phone wouldn't pair.

Checked phone and found Bluetooth widget on home page was not switching on/off correctly. Couldn't switch on/off in "Settings" either.

Switched phone off, back on and all was good again.

Presume Desire connects ok to other phones?
