Xenon bulb replacement

Featured Replies

I've noticed that my xenons are not as good as they were last year... (auto leveling working ok) and the lenses have been cleaned. ;-)

The car is now onto 105K so I'm figuring that the bulbs are past their best.

Are the bulbs easy enough to change and is there anything I need to watch out for ?

Thanks.

Nothing difficult, relatively straightforward - just take the usual handling precautions. Don't try to do it with the lamp in-situ, take it out. The OE burners are not cheap though! You may get a bit of a shock with the price...

YES! xenon's use very high power from the ballasts - make sure either the battery is disconnected or the headlight power is removed before changing them, the power the ballasts produce is meant to be enough to kill you.

There was a post on here a while back with a how to and photos.
