vRS Foglights

Featured Replies

Hi,

Yesterday my vRS front bumper was fitted to my non-vRS Fabia, and very nice it looks too. However, the foglights I bought (which were specifically advertised as being for the vRS only) are exactly the same as the standard ones I had, and therefore do not fit :dull: Not impressed.

Anyway, does anybody have a link to where I can buy a set of vRS foglights, or even better does anybody have a spare set kicking around? I'm not happy that the bumper is going to have to come off again to fit them, but heyho.

The dealer wants on obscene amount of money for a new pair: £123 EACH!!

Help...

Andrew

So the info here is incorrect?

Fabia vRS Front Fog Lights

6H0 941 699 A Left Hand £50.53 Each

6H0 941 700 A Right Hand £50.53 Each

... and the pattern ones at Ebay are too cheap at under £30 each or they're perhaps the ones you've bought already?

You could try a VW dealer to confirm the price you've already been quoted - or perhaps is it you need more than just the light itself to fit?

I hadn't spotted that info, but thanks. It could be that the prices shown there are out of date, or it could be that the dealer I visited is overly expensive or has their info wrong, I'm not sure.

Regarding the eBay ones: That's the ones I bought, they are not for the vRS :(

Now that I have part numbers, I'll ring around a few different dealers and see what I come up with. Failing that, I'll be looking for a secondhand set.

I'd go with out of date as it still states the PD160 intake at the original low price.

Ah, so it does.

I just rang the dealer I visited yesterday, and got hold of a different parts guy. Now that I have the actual part numbers, the price is £55.25 +VAT each, so god knows what the other guy was trying to sell me yesterday... :wonder:

I bet he was giving you prices for the headlights, i suppose with a bit of bodging and a lot of ducttape you could have fitted them in the foglight holes! ;)

Aw hell...why can't things be easy! :S

Was it the vertical vs horizontal mounting screws? :( Sorry you ended up with the wrong set mate...

I got a pair from a breaking vRS on eBay for £30 the pair.

Got any idea what age of vRS the bumper came off? Though I'm sure they're all the same and need the vertical mounting rather than the horizontal (that could be maintained with out bumper removal, hence the inclusion when the bumper was revised) as they didn't bother changing the vRS bumper when the 2005 revisions came in.. Can't blame them really..

Can't wait to see your motor all Chinned up though mate! It's gonna look the dogs!

Yep, the ones I need have the vertical screw(s), whereas the ones I got had the horizontal mounts, just like my existing non-vRS items.

I wouldn't be so annoyed if I could have retained the ability to change fogs without having to remove the bumper, but I have big hands so it seems inevitable. I had also already covered the new ones in yellow Lamin-X, so that's another thing to do again. I honestly have no clue how old the bumper is. It came out of a skip! (No, really...)

Haha thanks, here's a teaser for you. Imagine it with an LCR splitter, cleaned, yellow fogs, and with the Evolo's back on instead of the rubbish 14'' Elegance items:

Not sure about doing the yellow fogs, but it's looking good :)

Bumper is looking good dude! My car still has the Evolo's on for winter, yours will look great when spring comes! I'm not too sure on the fogs being yellow all the time either, perhaps just the yellow bulbs. Either way its yours and it still looks good

Nothing wrong with yellow fogs :D

I got a pair of pattern ones delivered for about £45 from Jorily.

With the vertical screw fitting btw. If you decide to get them from there

check them over carefully as both of mine leak :(

I aim to pop my bumper off in the spring when it's warmer and seal them up

with some roofing sealant so i can clean it off easily should I need to replace a bulb.

I used Osram all season bulbs in mine which have a yellow tint but with the lamin X too

they are yellower then Bananamans boots.

I've said this before... but FFS! Why doesn't the *drool* smiley work ;)

Looking so good dude. I was looking at the pics you had up in "Best Fabia" and was thinking "Hmmm, not sure about the badgless grille anymore"... but low and behold, it's gone! lol

The colour coded one looks great with the bumper, Now I really can't wait to see this all finished, especilly in profile so show of both bumpers! :D:thumbup:

Thanks man :) We'll see how it goes, Lamin-X can always be removed...

Haha awesome! Don't suppose you could post up a link to them? After my eGay fiasco, I'm a bit paranoid about ordering the wrong ones again.

And yes, that is very yellow!

Cheers matey, means a lot that at least someone likes it B)

Yeah, I was getting bored of the badgeless grill too. Believe me, I'm dying to see it all finished and shiny too! Well, in terms of looks it will be finished, but not in terms of making it faster... Big plans are afoot!
