Bilstein B12s

Featured Replies

Anyone run them on an Octy2? I'm considering moving to them, as my current V1s aren't coping all that well with the condition of the roads round here. Thinking a matched fixed spring and damper setup is probably the way to go...

Best price I've seen is £640.00 inc VAT. Any recommendations for suppliers?

Thanks,

Steve

here you go mate, review and a supplier in one  , ive driven motors with these and they are very very good review/vendor

I'd be interested in the outcome on your choice steve..

My weitecs are ok, but as i've probably said before they can just be a little too firm sometimes. I was up in west yorkshire a couple of weekends ago and the roads up there were absolutely awful - if these were my day-to-day driving roads i'd have already taken the weitecs off. Luckily the majority of my driving is on better surfaces.

Before I got my weitecs I considered Bilsteins (B8 to go along with eibach springs I had at the time) but didn't get them as I couldn't find any feedback that was relevant or useful. I also figured that if i didn't get on with the weitecs they would be easier to sell on.

Current plan is to stick with my weitecs and avoid yorkshire ;)

I think my Weitecs are fine to be honest , firm but not harsh , come and take my car out Steve , see what u think

I'm considering the Bilstein B6s with Eibachs for my new vRS. Anyone using this combo?

I had a B12 kit on my Vectra C and all I can was it was a awesome piece of kit :)

I think the B6 and the B8 are the same spec in terms of damping, but the B8 is designed for cars running a lower ride height. Ie if you're running eibachs then the B8 would be the better damper. You might want to check this out to verify..

IIRC there's a chap on here who's had eibachs with B8, you'll need to search to find the post but from memory he'd said they were very firm (sorry can't remember the posters name but i think it was the chap from greece? somewhere hot anyway lol..)

^^

googled it:

The user is "Petelking" who's in Israel, who said: "I've got a pair of bilstein B8's and the hardened rebound makes the car a little jumpy so my recommendation is keep it stock."

Thanks very much Rob that does help thanks. I remember reading this thread a while back. I keep going back to thinking eibach pro springs and standard dampers. Anyone in the North East got this setup?

eibach pro's with stock dampers is the least cost/least risk option really. its effectively an OE set up as these were the springs that skoda offered as accessories.

ibizalex has this set up and rates it highly on ride comfort.

i probably should have done this myself lol.. + saved a bunch of money.

HTH.
