How much for a standard turbo replacement?

Featured Replies

I'm going to be a Vrs owner next week so I thought it would be interesting to know how much a standard turbo would cost to replace if it ever needs to. My Honda needed a turbo replacement early last year which cost me £450. I hope i'm mistaken to believe that the turbo on the mk2 vrs cost £1k?! I'm not sure if it was the same Skoda but one story I read claimed it cost £1.5k!!!!:o Surely that can't be right, can it? Can anyone let me know about prices and how much would a Skoda dealer charge to fit them?

On my PD140 i was quoted £1700ish for a recon GT1749v by a main dealer, got a hybrid for £600 and got it fitted + service for 300 quid.

Long and short - budget for a grand and shop around.
