scrap yard is your friend

Might aswell go for a refurbished one at that price. Scrappy is a possible but you got no idea if its any better than yours until its on.

Thanks fellas i cant find one in a scrappy anywhere! is it only a skoda part or does say a mark 4 golf one fit??

and i thought this one is a refurbed one??

It is a refurbed one yeah, thats what I mean might aswell go for it at that price.

Anything with a vented rear caliper for 256mm will fit so Audi TT/S3, Golf 4mo, V5, Leon Cupra R etc etc.

ok thanks so if i buy it how easy is it for me to fit (im not very good at machanics!!!) :giggle:

The one you linked to was the cheapest i could find (in stock) when i thought i might need one. They are pretty rare if you want Skoda green ones, as some of the other makes that use the same caliper come in diff colours. The one i would have wanted should i have needed one was the Budweg one, which was a bit cheaper but an exchange and they didn't have the side i wanted anyway. :'(

re: DIY. It all depends how handy you are. If by your own admission you're not very good at mechanics, then i wouldn't start your DIY foray by messing about with your brakes. Either pay someone, or if you are serious to learn then make sure you have the correct tools and read a few DIYs to size the job up, or better still find a friend who will do it properly and show you at the same time.
