What can be turned on with VAGCOM etc?

Featured Replies

I am considering getting an SE Estate and wondered what do you need to specify as an option or what can be turned on by clever people with laptops. I bet the tyre pressure monitor can be activated!

If it had the system, why would it be deactivated?? Is it based on some kind of level sensor?

It doesn't need special sensors, it monitors spinning speed of each wheel trough ABS/ESP components. I think you need only maxidot display in order to display results.

Yes, it uses the ABS sensors to detect changes in the rolling circumference of each wheel. I have in on my Octavia vRS but it is an option on the Superb SE which I am considering as a company car. Given all the hardware is there, I wondered if it is switchable through the software.

It does have a button by the gearshift to re-calibrate it

Ah yes, good point - so that'll be a probable no for the TPM then.

How about hill hold control?

IIRC it's all linked in with the ESP/ABS system.

I had it on my Octavia L&K and i miss it a lot.

Would it be to make up for the lower torque of the petrol engine compared to the diesel?

Best regards

Maybe! It´s just strange that this feature is only standard with one engine/gearbox combination in the UK.

There seems to be a lot of difference in standard specs between the countries. I think that hill hold is standard on all models here in Sweden.
