White Estate

Featured Replies

Go for the White - I have on my SE Estate. Similar situation regarding lease budgets here also - hence the White so I could get sunset and heated seats.

I didn't think the Passat was as well spec'd as the Superb?

I had an Amethyst Combi for the weekend when I was looking to buy... a few of my friends commented it made the car look more suited to the "older generation". When my Steel Grey Combi arrived, the colour was far better received :)

Hmmmmm.... thanks! :S

I'll reserve my comments about steel grey for when your car does eventually make it to the Stretton Fox!

I've noticed every other Golf is now Steel Grey... (the other half being black) but hey each to their own... LOL :p

Still look forward to seening it soon D. (but I won't be there at the next meet... sorry, but feel free to make it 3 Superb appearances in a row... keep the Octy & Furby guys drooling... )

Regards

Stephan

I was always led to believe that the monthly lease cost on a metallic car was lower/cost neutral vs a solid colour because even though the purchase cost is higher the retained value is also higher....obviously a bit of a myth!

Ah, erm yes... Apologies Stephan, they were just the comments I received! Mind you, I thought for a while that steel grey was a bad choice and I should have gone for something with a hint if colour... My dealer nearly got the call to switch the colour to Amethyst, but I quite like Steel grey now :)

Hopefully our paths will cross soon!

Cheers

:giggle: I have seen a couple in steel grey & I must admit it does look quite nice... & like some cars, when clean & sparkly it really does look quite special. But if mucky I think it looks a little dull but so do lots of other cars (especially my current black Golf... due to be replaced with a Georgia Blue one (originally requested a Steel Grey one :o ) at the end of the year - 1.6TDi Bluemotion technology).

No doubt see you soon enough... just keep youur eye's peeled for a Black Golf Mk5 lurking...

I have a feeling we're both happy with our Superb motors!

Stephan

It will look more like this during the winter though! (I would never buy another white car again)

Not white anymore:

I must therefore officially consider myself part of "the older generation" as I have an Amethyst on order

p.s. what happens when you get to 50?????

I wouldn't worry about it... don't people tend to say older & wiser... and not to mention better insured  B)

Being not quite 40 & already a happy owner of an Amethyst estate I reckon when you come across one it stands out rather plesantly!

Enjoy the wait & then the ownership

Go for black and save money on the expense of the hearse.

I just love my white car. :-)

Can you buy a spare and jack afterwards?

Yes, it comes as a kit.

Spare wheel, foam insert, wheelbrace and jack I believe.

Oh yes, and white cars look great.

Except for a month or two in the depths of winter.

I had the same leasing issue and I didn't want a taxi/police car so went with the blue.

Surprised about the amount of compliments I've had on the colour, didn't really like it but after 3 weeks it looks like a dirty metallic anyway, it's certainly not as flat/dull as expecting and if I had a more expensive lease option I'd have no hesitations ticking the pacific blue option and spending the savings on some more options for my comfort.

Brilliant!

Another vote here for white estate cars :)

Have to say in the last couple of days have seen a black twindoor and black combi. Suits it very well.

Realise that the solid colour lower price is an issue for some, but with driving around in white and silver cars most of the day so personally I'd like something else.

In my case it had nothing to do with the price. It was an active choice as I love big exclusive white cars with extra everything :)
