Optional Snow Chains?

Featured Replies

A friend of mine mentioned these to me. As they have no chain / fitting protruding on the inside of the tyre, would they be a possible alternative for the Yeti ?

I'm running 215/60 x 16s at present so that gives me a touch more space inside the wheel arch. These aren't cheap - like £250 - but they do seem to be a viable option. Anyone in the know - TP / Allams - like to comment ?

Hi Smick,

believe you should have no issues using these with the 215/60 tyre, also remember you can use conventional chains on the rear wheels with your beast being a 4x4.

Yes I have them. Used them on my Passat...easy to fit and work very well.

Not tried them on the Yeti so far but have no concerns.

I got my chains from the same site Smick, except I went for the 'Klack & Go' design.

Again, not tried them yet. Ivor seems to be taking what we have weather wise in his stride and he's VERY capable, even with the standard tyres fitted

I quite like the idea of these.

Anyone tried these on a 2wd?

Is a 2wd with chains equal in the snow to a 4wd yeti on standard tyres?

Think I would prefer a set of snowsocks, thank you.

I have both - belt and braces.

For the UK, I agree that snowsocks are the best and most cost effective.
