First Birthday...

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just to report that TIBET has passed its first birthday with 14,000 miles under its paws. Visited James at Allams during the week and a minor rattle in the s*unroof was sorted quickly by one of their technicians. I also collected my rear wheel arch protector films.

Now just awaiting this year's serious snow so the Yeti can again demonstrate what a capable vehicle it is - and take some more pretty pictures. Still can't fault it in the dry, wet or snow. Average mpg has been around 42, high 40s when on a run. And Allmas continue to be the dealer most people can only dream of dealing with.

Apologies to all for not being around much in the last 6 months - too much paperwork in the evening for work and you know how time flies when you come here and start reading every post....! It's great to see the SMOC growing bigger all the time.

Enjoy! emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Great to hear you're still around. I was in Allams on the same day as you, but a little later, with Elsie, having her maps updated.

Hello Mate, glad you posted an update - good to hear that you are still around ;-) Mine got serviced two weeks ago at 8 months old and 8,200 miles. Absolutely faultless car and just £90 for the first service at the local dealer! Bargain!

Hi Ray,

worst time to let her go emoticon-0106-crying.gif however my lads cheap and cheerful Fabia I is doing an amazing job so far on very budget Chinese M+S tyres (not proper winters).

Mind I broke one of the rear door 'check straps' yesterday trying to open the door as it's mechanism had frozen  Complete door strip down to change a simple component held in place by three bolts :( One to watch as the Yeti uses a similar system.

TP

Now we just need Lady P to reply to this thread and all is well!!! Glad to hear all is going well Aerofurb!

Snehvide's first birthday today. One year old today and with 41000 km (25625 miles) on the clock.

When she was delivered last year, it was the last day that season without snow. Next morning there was a tryout of both the Haldex AND the winter tyres she was delivered with on the original alloy wheels.

Do I need to say she passed the test?

Now we just need Lady P to reply to this thread and all is well!!! Glad to hear all is going well Aerofurb!

Blimey, it's turning into a 'welcome home' thread! It's great to see the place is thriving with loads of new, happy owners (and prospective owners). Sorry to miss you Mike at Allams last week - James updated my Columbus too - great to see postcodes work now. TP, James said you'd paid (literally...!) him a visit. emoticon-0105-wink.gif

My next decision is whether or not to go for some winter tyres and wheels (TIBET deserves a birthday present!). I've asked James for more info on what they can source.

My problem of Briskoda poor attendance has been buckets of paperwork to do in the evenings for work and we all know how time evaporates the moment you start reading all the SMOC threads and posts. A lot of the paperwork has been proof reading technical manuals for an Italian range of aircraft we're dealers for in the UK so it's not all boring stuff. This is our Tecnam P2006T:

Two 100hp, 1352cc Rotax flat 4 engines give a cruise of around 150mph which means 18mpg or so which is double any comparable twin. Great fun but a bit more expensive than a Yeti.... emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif
