Bolero to Columbus Coding query

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've bought a Columbus and this is now installed in in the car, I've upgraded the firmware to 2780 and everything appears to work fine. Audio information is shown in maxidot, however, I don't get the navigation info or compas in Maxidot (which I pretty much expected) so I'd after confirmation of what coding needs to be done before i go to my local friendly VCDS owner...

Do I just need to enable controller 37 in the Can Gateway Installation (controller 19) and then in channel 37 toggle bit 7?

Also, to enable the test menu on the Columbus, channel 37 bit 50 needs to be set to 1?

Or have I completely misread information found when searching the net...

Cheers

the hidden menu needs to be enabled in VCDS as follows.

1. Go to Navigation - 37

2. Click on Adaptation - 10

3. Type 50 into the channel box.

4. Change the value from 0 to 1

5. Click on test and press code

6. Exit out of VCDS.

7. Press <> and brightness to reboot the rns-510.

8. Then press setup for about 20 to 30 seconds to enable the secret menu (just keep your finger on it it will go from normal menu to radio then after about 10-15 secs to the hidden menu)

Basically you can vew info like map version software version etc. You can even see your digital speed (in KM/H) in one of the menu's but it's no different to what is displayed on the speedo

......you need to enable it in can gateway i think it basic settings and tick navigation and save if you google columbus vag coding it you should find it
