Door mirror problem

Featured Replies

My drivers side door mirror won't lock in position.

When I park my car I allways use my key fob to fold the door mirrors in, then as I start the engine they unfold.

However this morning when I started the engine my door mirror instead of locking in position at approx 90 degrees to the door window continued all the way so it was at 180 degrees to the window?

I hope I've explained the problem clearly? Does anyone have any experience of this?

Have you tried using the internal switch to pull the mirrors back in and then out again on the switch, not the keyfob, or starting the car

Yes I tried that.... No joy... I guess it's going to have to be a dealer visit in the near future

Same thing happened to me on mine.I just manually pulled the mirror into its usual position. It seems to have sorted the problem. Its as if the mirror FORGOT where to stop ! :giggle::giggle: JB

I tried this also but it doesn't seem to "lock" in the correct position so it just keeps doing it over and over again?

Maybe it will fix itself? I'll keep trying

Ive also had exactly the same problem sicethe cold weather and snow set in but it does seem to have righted itself now

Thanks for replying

Did you do anything to right it?

Should I just wait?

I did nothing

the first time it happened it was slightly worrying and when i went to push the mirror back into position there was no resistance and no click into place so i got it "about" right and then just locked the car and closed them with the key fob and then opeened up and started teh car and they were fine.

Its happened a couple of times since but not worried me as much.

I now think i have a problem with the rear hatch not closing properly after operating it at - 9 degrees this morning lol so will be going to dealer mid morning to sort that and will mention the mirror and report back what they say

Thanks ozthecoz I just tried what you did and ...... It worked!

You've saved me a trip to the dealers.

Thank you

I was going to post about the same issue, nice to see that a few of us are having it and it is probably weather related. My drivers side has done it a few times and both sides did it Sunday when it was really cold. I guess we wait until it warms up and see if the problem disappears before bothering our dealers.
