260k miles today

Featured Replies

Would like to thank my Superb for turning over 260 000 miles today, its a 1.9 tdi 130 bhp comfort, only problems touch wood have been a new clutch and flywheel and a new maf in all those miles, oh and lots and lots of tyres :D. Parking sensors work when they want and thats about it, almost forgot the numberplate lights are a pain so changed to led bulbs and they have not failed yet.

It feels like it will do another 100k not bad for an ex taxi of my dads given to me to use for my daily long commute. Returns over 50mpg constantly.

Excellent.

Only VAG could ditch the excellent 1.9PD and fit a pile of rubbish to the later cars.

I hope my 1.9 will be as reliable as yours has been - so far, so good.

Thanks guys, i will definately replace it with another 1.9 pd when it eventually dies. Theres no squeeks or rattles from the interior either they really are well built. Baker 21 your car is totally mint keep up the good work.

Good result. Yep, the 8v PD lumps certainly seem to be proving more reliable than the later 16v motors...

Hmmm, maybe I should switch back?! :wonder:

260k is awesome and fair play, hope mine reaches that as well............

Used to do around 60 miles per day but having moved now I am only doing around 20 so it's taking longer to get over the 20k mark now, currently on 183k...........

I think smog rules did that, as that engine is one you can say if it ain't broken don't try to fix it.

Im at pretty much half that. Tight as a drum mechanically.

There is a few niggly issues, one parking sensor is dead, passenger door speaker works when it feels like it and theres a condensation problem which I need to get fixed. But other than that I believe the only thing thats been changed apart from the tyres, is the break discs and pads. Original turbo, flywheel, clutch etc etc. Great car, and great engine.

cant beat the 1.9tdi lump will run forever if looked after
