Heated washer nozzles

Featured Replies

Basically I'd like some. Because I drove 200miles last night with no screen wash coming through! Was a bit of a nightmare that I'd like to avoid in the future.

I'm using -8 washer fluid, and it wasn't frozen in the tank, it just kept freezing at the nozzles. If I stopped and let a bit of heat soak into them and cleaned the nozzles with my fingernails, they worked...... for a good 2 mins!

So anyway, I know heated washer nozzles were a factory option. Has anyone got them fitted? Anyone ever found any part numbers or prices for the kit?

It's strange how something so simple could save your life!

I was tempted to get out and take a pee on the screen last night it was so bad! Might start filling the washer tank with vodka.....

DONT WASTE THE VODKA!!!! :giggle:

A trick used in my youth was to get a longer pipe for the washers & wrap it around the heater hose forming a coil to pre heat the water before it went to the jet, it worked well on Mk 2 Cortinas :giggle:

I did that on my MkII GTI too. Worked very well and on occasion you could see the screenwash steaming as it hit the screen :D
