advice needed vRs Octavia

Featured Replies

Hello Guys

I need a little help at the moment We have a small three door car and My wife is expecting our 1st child in a couple of weeks so I went to our local Skoda garage and test drove a Octavia vRs estate which I must say I loved from the minute I sat in it anyway should We purchase one of these in March or wait for the new Octavia vRS which I have been told is under evaluation at the mo and should be coming out late 2005

I am not sure what to do.

I would buy now - there are some cracking deals around for the Octy RS if you shop around  Also, there is no definite date set for the launch of an Octy 2 RS yet, no info on what it spec it will be, or if there will be an estate ... and then the crunch is that you can guarantee it will substantially more expensive than the current Octy RS :(

Hello.'old'shape vrs is an absolute bargain at the moment.although new vrs is coming out at the end of this year i don't know if skoda will do what they did last time and release new vrs estate sometime therafter i.e 2006.

Thanks Guys I am pleased You all said that I do not think I could wait that long

cant agree more with buying now although i wouldnt think the new vRS will be as much as

IIRC - The Octy vRS estate did not get released till at least 6 months after the hatch.

Do you really wait to wait that long again?

I am looking to buy an Octavia vrs estate with optional extras like sunroof and xenon lights what would the price likely to be also with the lights i have seen else where on this forum that it can delay the delivery time why would that be.

i'd say you'd probablt have at least an 8-10 :thumbdwn: week wait for a car with that spec,i maybe wrong,a dealer might have a car in the right colour and that spec on order already.

probably be best to head to your dealer and ask some questions and get your deposit down!!!!

The delay comes about because the car needs to be made to that spec - if the dealer can find a car which matches your requirements at another dealer or in storage, then there won't be this delay. The more options you choose, the less likely there is to be one in stock, hence you usually have to wait for it to be built...

Thanks Guys i will let You know how I get on.

Any of you guys got some info on dealer prices for an octy vrs. What sort of discount is likely?

I am bit like skywalker except my third nipper is on route.

Ta

I have just paid

I know the baby is only on the way but one thing I have found is that the 2 booster seats I have do not fit in the rear seats because of the seat bolsters. The baby seat fitted fine though. Does anyone else have a problem with this or know of a booster seat that does fit properly?

All the best to you with the baby, make sure you stock up on sleep!

I am also about to buy a vRS hatch, best quote from a dealer is

Does anyone else have a problem with this or know of a booster seat that does fit properly?

I've got the Recaro Start seat on one side and a cheapo Mothercare bolster seat on the other side and no problems.

We've recently got a Brittax booster seat and it doesn't quite sit properly. I think it's due to the shape of the rear bench..it's more of 2 seat bench design so the bolsters push the boost seat towards the centre of the bench and obscure the seat belt clip.

Just got a Brittax First Class SI plus.......hell of a size...it's one of those with a base which the seat reclines in......luckily the belt goes through the frame and not round the whole thing....had a lot of probs fitting the new born seat in SWMBO's Premacy.....hopefully will be easier with the new seat.
