Snapped rear wiper arm off!

Featured Replies

Absolutley gutted, normally I ALWAYS free wipers, clean them etc. this morning i was in a mad rush and didn't... anyway rear wiper goes on and i notice it dangling off the back window, snapped clean off :-/

I know alot of people do the Polo 9n wiper swap iirc, so this may be of interest to myself. Can anyone provide me with some info?

Thanks

A direct fit really, just may need to file the cap down a couple of mm. Costs about £30 all in from the VW dealers, maybe a bit less. Looks like this;

Might have part numbers around still if you wish, but I had a clear out the other day, so I may have binned them. :thumbdown:

Always annoying when you break something yourself through impatience or stupidity - cost myself a lot of money that way!

For others reading this thread I've routinely been lifting the wipers off the screens each evening for the last two weeks - means you don't have to worry about them freezing to the screen...

Snap! (pun intended) :giggle:

Mine snapped 2 weeks ago and I started this thread Rear Wiper not woking Properly The weight of 1 foot of snow snapped it.

I had a front one snap this time last year. When I was ordering one from Skospares, the chap said it's a common problem as the arms are know to be brittle.

I got a standard rear one at my local scrappy last weekend. It was £15 and came with a wiper. :thumbup: I've not fitted it yet as the car is covered in snow, so don't want it to snap again.
