wrong gear nob and gator on my furby vrs.

Featured Replies

picked up my furby vrs on the 11th of dec, was on my way home then noticed it had the wrong gear nob and gater on!! anyway got intouch with horners in bury were i got it from and they said one was being ordered for me but it was coming direct from chekoslavakia so there not sure how long it will take??? this cant be right???

If it wasn't in stock, then yes, it would have to come direct from the factory, and they are very bad at being able to predict when things will be ready.

As to why it has the wrong gear knob - dunno, maybe the existing one was damaged, so they put on a replacement so you could use the car while they were waiting for the new one to be delivered?

Either way, should've been something they told you rather than you having to ask...

Rob.

Shocking! I would not be impressed

they didnt know about it! when i went back to the dealer they were all confused and asked me to check if it did have a six speed box, it did so that was all right!

Mikejay: as a matter of interest ... does the gear lever with the wrong knob rattle in neutral?

It is a little worrying :| - Check your brakes too ;)

I'm pretty sure it's just the wrong part by mistake rather than something extremely dodgy, but doesn't the dealer normally check the car appears to be ok before handing over the keys to you?!

I'm shocked about that, I'd have thought they'd drive the car off the transporter & notice this kinda thing, but then I don't work in a dealership or anything ;)

i suppose it is easy missed if your not lookin for it. i didnt notice it stright away. bryand, yes it does still rattle in neutral!

You might want to check the engine aswell :-)

Next thing you know they're telling you they gave you a VW Polo ;)

Let's hope the parts arrive soon so you've got the whole package right :D

At least it's nothing which will really impact on your driving experience, so under the circumstances I guess it was probably the best thing to do. Bet you'd have been more p*ssed if you were told you couldnt have the car yet due to this mistake.
