fabia tank capacity

Hm... this is an odd one, I fill up regulary 52/54 lt so if the tank is about 55/55.5 in total I should have less than 40miles left. Never came accros an issue like this one.

Yeah I had a feeling this might be unique to my car (as usual lol) :-)

The manuak for mine says 45l, but I've never managed to get any more than around 40 in .Very interesting that bit about the 100PD .Always thought that with a bit more BHP I'd get better MPG on the motorway .If I could just keep it to 60-65 on the motorway ,possibly. But the extra 500 revs knocks up the consumption .

This is what my manual says as well, the fully vented tank will take 55 lt not an issue.

Difference between 2000RPM (60MPH) and 2400 (70MPH) is about 5MPG.

Your car is 1.4TDI, years ago I was driving Polo 1.4TDI 70BHP and on a trip to Manchester returned 75MPG driving 60MPH.

My long trips have been a bit longer than that. Passing the West coast point level with Dunfermline ,I usualy have done approx 350 miles, nd still got about 100 more. So I tend not to hang around . Last trip was about three years ago and I can't remember how much fuel was then can only roughly work out the amount .

does anybody have any pictures to show where this 'vent trick' is done? am i just being extra extra thick not knowing what it is?

Have a look at this link with all the pictures. This is for VW but Skoda is the same, the only difference that in a Skoda is on the right side not on the left (at least mine is). You don't have to remove anything, just when you put diesel in the car press and hold down (forward) the small nipple:

that, my friend, is a great link.

so can you actually hear a hiss of the air escaping?

yet again, sorry for being thick but i take it that i brim the tank, the press this button and it'll then create room for more fuel?

Iain

Iain, you don't have to wait. What I do is I press (push forward) the nipple with the nozzle and just wait till I start seeing clear diesel. Be aware that diesel foam very easy, so perhaps you should do it several times, top, wait for the foam to settle and top up again. If you go early morning you can do it quicker because the diesel it doesn't foam so much on cold weather. Don't worry about people behind you :D they will give you some look, but if you do it right from low fuel light, you are looking at minimum 50 lt. This will give you range of over 600 miles on vRS and if you I careful maybe even more.

Did this for the first time today as I had a long journey ahead gauge said a 1/3 of a tank but still got 43 litres in. Traveled 300 miles and it still says over 3/4's of a tank left, happy days

The missus asked my to take her Fabia for a run last night "to make sure the battery's charged".

The fuel gauge was of course reading empty and the miles to go was on zero.

This here receipt from Morrisons says that I put 55.13 litres in.

Can u that my car out for a spin lmao
