Skoda Fabia (2009) turning itself off, while driving along.

Featured Replies

My fabia suffers from an intermittent fault. Sometimes equipment, such as the windscreen wipers, the air-conditioning and the side-windows will stop working. This can be more serious, such as when driving, the headlights will stop working, as will all the others lights on the car. Sometimes, the car will just go dead, as if it had ben switched off.

Since the car is only 14 months old, i have taken it back to Skoda. they found that a relay box was loose, which they tightened up. They advised me that should the fault happen again, to lightly tap this box, which is situated near the fuse box. When the car switched itslef off on the M25, at 9pm, I took the car back again, but they could not find any fault, or record of it in the car's computer.

Has anyone had any experience of this and, if possible, no what the remedy might be?

Hi and welcome aboard.

I haven't heard of that fault before.

Welcome to Briskoda.

What engine is in your Fabia?

Cheers

Davy

Hi Arthur

You need to say what model you have, but sounds like a very poor battery connection, check all the connections
