Skoda Felicia VR6

Featured Replies

I can remember seeing a totally bonkers Skoda Felicia mk1 fitted with a Golf VR6 engine in a dealer mag, whilst having my old Felly serviced a few years back. I think it was built by Skoda UK, but not 100% certain. It was in the same shade of yellow as the Fun and had a Fun style interior. Bet it torque steered like a sod!

Anyone else remember this car?

This pops up every now and again, the Felicia was built by Awesome GTi for Skoda uk, currently residing at a dealer (Le Car?) for sale, about 12k iirc.

Ta very much. Seems a bit pricey at £12k

Got the feeling they dont want to sell it, lot of history with the car but like we have said before its only worth what someone will pay for it. Probably see it back at TLC in MK one day.

the old gal certainly does the rounds a bit! it gets more and more expensive every time it pops up

It would probably cost more than £12k to build one though now. A Felly VR6 would be one hell of a Q car if made to look as standard as possible, say looking like a boggo GLi or summat, then blasting away from the lights like a scalded cat

Whilst googling it, I found a VW forum, and they were really slagging it off. seems a lot of them were 'badge Nazis'. I bet if it was in a Polo they would be singing its praises from the rooftops. I don't think a lot of these 'people' like it that the Czech company makes better cars than the parent, and its a bit of envy :giggle:

anything can be done if you apply enough money/time/skill.. i've seen an audi v8 in a 6n polo before (yes in the front!)

tell ya what, if you give me £12K i'll build you one, then i would go on a holiday with the £10k that is left over at the end.. sound fair?

Ah, but I suspect unlike some of us most people would want you to blow that £10k on making it look fancy, too ;)

Forget fast, though, howsabout sticking a Felicia shell onto a Land Rover 90 chassis? Now that I'd like! :D

Fitted with an RPi V8 conversion?

From what i remember reading in 1 of the mags it was featured in, it cost in excess of £30k to build. A recent DVLA vehicle enquiry showed that the car has been untaxed and unSORNed for quite a while now.

They will have built it using a brand new donor car, fresh out of the box VR6, and the same for the gearbox, brakes and suspension...Plus the labour rates of the build...Easy £30k

How do you do a vehicle search on the DVLA?

The front seats, door cards and instruments are from a Fun :-)

Much yellow and froggyness

And the rest of the interior and the rear bumper are from a pre-'98 car, and the front end and tailgate are post-'98, so it's at least 4 cars in one (if you count the engine too) - now that's starting to sound like a bit more value for money! ;)

(well, unless you particularly enjoy going round corners...)
