Alarm keeps going off today

Featured Replies

Anyone have any idea why? Just washed it and for the past hour or so it seems to be going off for no reason. Very little wind here and all the windows are up. Any ideas?

pass, is the boot shut? And are you sure all the windows are shut? Maybe when you washed it some water has gone where it shouldn't have.

Might be best to take it down to your local dealer

I had this on my last car (a Golf), and could not find the reason. I then noticed water dripping from the tailgate so I removed the interior trim to find that the rear washer pipe was leaking when the rear washer was operated. The water was draining into the tailgate alarm switch and shorting it out, so with the alarm set, the system was detecting that the tailgate had been opened. Maybe if you remove the interior tailgate trim panel you'll be able to see if this is the case.

Interior light off? Seem to remember that fixed Adrian's once ;)

...and Des'..I think...some body else as well anyway. :)

Must be said mine had been in a motorway shunt. :D

Moisture.. hmm, always suspect it.. dunno why just do. But seriously the only other thing I've read about alarms going off was in the manual somewhere and it said something to do with the charge of the battery. If it has dropped below a certain level, then the alarm goes off intermittently - can anyone confirm yay or nay to this please? I'm not going outside to my furby its cold here up north.. :)
