new to this forum and will be collecting my silver Fabia vRS on Tuesday and just can't wait!!

I'm already thinking of mods like re-chipping (when run in off course) and from browsing through this site it seems as if it will be well worth a Greens Panel Air Filter. Does the car need any setting up if I fit the Greens Filter or can I just fit and forget? Also, can anyone recommend where to get one please.

I would appreciate any advice on the best way to run the car in too as I've heard that you can be too gentle which doesn't allow the engine to bed in very well and can cause excessive oil usage.

Yes - I've heard that too - noticably from Honest John in The Daily Telegraph. I ran mine in strictly keeping to the recommended advice and have been checking the oil consumption at intervals following the warning on this site.

However I've now done 2373 miles and the oil reading is "stuck" at halfway on the dipstick range.

Same here, I stuck to the advice and in 4 months of ownership and 2770 miles my oil has needed a 1/4 of a litre and for weeks has been stuck near maximum.
