1st March 05 Delivery Club...

Featured Replies

I'm hoping I will get some info at the beginning of March - it's getting a little annoying not know when the Furby will arrive :( - main issue is switching over the insurance...

what's the deal with the lack of heated seats? If you have ordered them in the beginning can they then turn around close to delivery date and tell you that your car will be delivered without them?

@pixi - they'd better not as my contract says mid-March, and it has them on it...

Don't care if they deliver it late but they will need to supply me with a vRS in the meantime for free...

Just been told I won't be taking delivery til mid March. Not at all impressed... :finger:

Don't mean to sound pretentious (sp?) but picking up a car on 31st March isn't the same as the 1st March with a fresh reg number is it?

Nope it sure isn't :(

To me my contract says mid-March anyway, so I expect it by then, with the toys as per specified at the price specified. If a deviation of that happens I expect to be compensated or otherwise sweetened. Sure would be pretty ****ed if it works out to be end of March.

The car is not only a nice thing to get, and even the plates aren't THAT important to me as such (although it DOES matter) - the main thing is safety. I'm driving a cruddy Rover 100 at motorway speeds daily at the moment. Compared to a decent car it lacks any form of acceleration, brakes or road holding 'skillz' - let alone safety features such as ABS and airbags. It comes down to risk in that regard. Also, the cost of fuel running a petrol at 5000+ rpm most of the time versus running a vRS at normal revs is enormous.

vRSed - just hope it will indeed be middle of March for you then. Is your dealer attempting to keep you relatively happy by offering you some form of compensation or anything, or have you basically just been told to stuff it pretty much?

:iagree:

Although the car I have at the moment is quite nice, 03 reg Megane DCi Privilege (top spec), its diesel hungry (37mpg) so at 9p a mile business rate I'm actually making a loss, and the hands free entry is unreliable, it rattles, the interior is grubby...

My car is being supplied through a lease company through a work scheme. I was told delivery would be 24th Jan, then 1st March, now later in March (no specific date). I'm not dealing with the dealer, the (unkown) lease company is, which sucks. They have given me this Megane free of charge until it arrives, but I'm still not impressed

Mines arriving 1st march. Black standard spec. Cannot wait. Not long now guys

My dealer will get yet another expectant phonecall on Monday - Just got the paperwork through for the Barclayloan - that way the dosh should be in my account before the car arrives :)

Just spoken with the dealer today - the car is PDI'd and just needs a valet (Monday). Picking it up 08:30 on Tuesday. Can't wait :thumbup:

Went down today to pay and have a look the plate looks sweet

Stroll on tuesday.

Hello to everyone on the list - There's going to be a lot of people with big :D:D:D tomorrow

Maybe i'm just weird, but am soooo excited !!

Well guys, I hope you all enjoy your day tomorrow as much as I (hopefully) will.

P.S. Oh and to Meirionr - enjoys your's at 00:01hrs tomorrow

Hope you guys like them tomo. My stepdad gets his Laguna tomo and is looking forward to it.

Just called my dealer and he was still hopeful for a mid-March, no delays reported on Furbys - Octy with 1.9 diesel apparently has some delivery issues though :(

Well.....here it is !!!!!

:D:D:thumbup::D:D

 enjoy.Looks great

Enjoy :D

Looks real good! :)

Got mine today! already 100+ miles done!!!

Its an amazing car, cant wait till it is run in a bit more!!! ;) Like lots of neat touches that i didnt know about before. It really is a complete little car.

I fitted my snooper and diadems (make headlights look loads better) but i managed to **** up my briskoda sticker

really annoyed with myself messing the sticker up!

I picked it up at 9 this morning and now I am getting 7 hours driving, :D

As there seems to be a couple  of people taking delivery of their new vRS Fabias on March 1st' date=' (myself included :D ) just thought it would be nice to see who else is in the same position... Add yourself to the list if you are a member of this exclusive club....

With all these new fast Fabias coming "onto the scene", I feel the urge for a Briskoda national meet...

1) vRSed Black, xenons, heated seats, cruise.[/quote']

2) vRS Silver Standard off the production line collected 01/03/05 11:00am

Got mine at 8:50 - 10 mins befor dealer opened

Did all paperwork day before so literally walked in & swapped keys.

Very impressed with the car so far, though initially I thought the wheel alignment was out - seems to be affected by camber quite a lot.

Also got free vRS tee-shirt, squishy Skoda stress ball, Skoda pen and a bottle of VAG oil (in the little oil holder in the boot too) - after already getting free cruise, autochanger and a nice discount :D

So far all's well, done about 300 miles so far and already upset a couple of BMWs & a Calibra (as well a a few standard boy-racer tat-heaps), that's only using 3K RPM!! Roll on 1000 miles!

:woohoo:

Where did you put your snooper radar detector? I have a BEL980 which I normally have Velcro'd to the dash above the wheel, but the Fabia dash slopes big time so it points skyward! The BEL has saved my ar*e a few times so I need to get it in ASAP

  • 2 weeks later...

I know what you mean about the sloping dash, it put me off velcoing it.

I have used the window bracket and put it in the corner on the right of the dash, just by the little plastic clip on the windscreen. I can take a pic if you want?

I have some self adhesive Velcro but it will not stick to the dash at all, it stuck fine to the Clio's cheap and nasty dash! In fact I had to warm it up to get it off when I sold the car, I cannot find my window suction cup bracket so that is out but thanks anyway

Only had to wait two weeks for mine, had already been sitting in the showroom of Pilling in Milton Keynes.

Long two weeks though.

Specially as I ended up selling my old car with still a week to go, as a consequence I had to take a week off work. Naturally I took off the 1st, only put 100 miles on it that day. But it's going to turn over 1400 when I go out tonight :o
