Battery or el problem?

Featured Replies

Hi y'all. My Octavia 1.8t suffered a dead battery the otherday. I bought and installed the new one, and that was also dead after three days. It is a bit cold here at the moment (-3/-5) but that hasn't affected the car before and it has been much colder pre Christmas. The battery is charging when the engine is running. Does anyone know of a common problem that drains the battery overnight?

Hi,

We have a L&K combi model, so it is easy to see if the lights are on or not. All interior lights go off when either the remote or actual key is used.

Welcome to Briskoda...

sorry i cant help you with your problem, but i hope you get to the bottom of it! :)

Hi y'all.

Now the lock system in the driver's door has stopped working on the remote but now has to be locked with the key. It does mean however that the battery drain has stopped.

New problem while we wait for a repair slot at our local Skoda workshop though: last night (1.30 am!) after coming home from doing a gig the alarm kept going off approximately 5 minutes after locking the car. How do we turn this damn thing off before it drives us and the neighbours potty - remember, the car isn't booked in until Tuesday 8 february to have this sorted!
