Eibach pro-spacer kit?

Featured Replies

Anyone fitted wheel spacers such as the Eibach pro-spacer kit?

Just wondering if they make any worthwhile benefits to handling & bodyroll etc.

Do they increase load on wheel bearings - anyone had any fail because of fitting them?

Extra long wheel bolts would be essential then!

cheers.

IIRC the rear track on the fabia is a few (5 or 6) mm narrower than the front.

fitting spacers to compensate will increase stability under heavy braking.. but you will need longer wheelbolts.. and it will increase load on wheel bearings (i have had a rear bearing fail... almost wouldnt do it under warranty due to aftermarket rims)

tbh your looking at over

By increasing the track width, not only is the appearance improved, you also achieve an optimized driving behavior combined with higher stability, as the roll of the chassis is influenced in a positive manner.[/b]

While this is infact true it's also worth knowing a little rule-of-thumb that for every 30mm wider you make a vehicles track, dropping the car height by 10mm will have the same affect on the vehicles c of g.

Just my 2p worth

Give bill a call... or PM him :)

i did consider adding 5mm spacers each side on the back.. but the cost was prohibitive. are the eibach ones hubcentric??

my 17"s were a slightly bigger offset than the OE ones which is what they were trying to blame the failure on. the car will look better with them on (eg ross's TTcomp wheels are a bigger offset and fill the arches better) but i think youll have arch clearance problems with more than 5mm on each side.

Not sure if its same for Fabia as it is for ibiza, but adding rear track width settled down the rears 'nervous' feel, especially over uneven ground and heavy braking. Made the rear seem more planted on ibiza's when adding 15mm/side

They were 35mm narrower rear than front as std.
