Winter Mode - Activate

Featured Replies

So, the Fabia has had it's winter look on for a few weeks now, the story basically goes, i didn't want to run the polished TT comps over winter so bought steels, had them banded.... then clearly took lots of drugs and went on some kind of an orange/sticker trip, then decided a roof rack might set off the look too... it's funky and I get a lot of comments both good and bad while driving around!

No fear though guys, normal service will be resumed when the spring rolls around...

Anyway, I was at a New Years party last night and on my way home, at 4 in the morning might I add, i noticed a deserted multi - storey car park... Hope you enjoy the results:

I much prefer the style of black and white photos so only took 3 colour photos, all quite close up.

Here are two of them:

Liking the wheels! Not sure that it's the route I'd go down myself, but I'm glad somebody has

Good work

That looks good Duggie.

Not sure about the high level numberplate. Makes it look too Rat/taxi IMO.

Other than that, looks good.

silly Q but what are banded steels?

Widened wheels, basically, they have been cut in half, had 1.5 inches added, then welded back together. Cool huh?

I was in Brighton last night dropping a member of the family off at a NYE party and some woman tried to get in (thinking I was a taxi) so i think that the numberplate may have to come of...

Thanks again guys,

- Duggie.

I agree.....Why the high number plate?

If you were always towing something or had bike racks etc on the hatch, then putting the plate facing the rear may be sensible. However, I can't see how you would cover the front one, so needing it on the roof.

loving the wheels, dunno why i love orange haha, same though please lose the high number plate

sometimes there is no point... that's the point...

I do think the numberplate my be overkill though....

- Duggie.

tbh, I love the roof rack and the number plate! Imho, it gives the car a more powerful look that I'd want in winter.

The orange wheels though, not a big fan of but together with the bit of orange at the top it doesn't look too rediculous.

Overall *thumbs up*!

For the 1,000,000th time... Why doesn't the  smiley work anymore ;)

Big Fan mate.. got a soft spot for a well sorted non-vRS!

Thanks guys, got something quite special in the pipeline, but you'll have to wait until late spring/early summer for that...

ah i c is that safe sounds a bit dodgy?

Ditch the roof rack and numberplate together with the orange paint on the wheels, and it would look good

Ditch the roof rack and numberplate together with the orange paint on the wheels, and it would look good

but then the cool kids wouldn't like it :|

Love it, gives me great faith that just lowering mine and changing the wheels will make a huge difference to its look - even with the standard body kit :)

Wait for summer and your wish will be granted, as for now, i think this stops it from blending into the tarmac....

Thanks guys!

- Duggie.
