Boot Opening

Featured Replies

Now my 1.4 Elegance is opening the boot by itself whilst driving you get the warning sound the clunk from the boot and the light on in the dash. Does not do it all the time but scares the life out of me when it does its even happened just stationary turning the steering wheel. I know the car has an issuie with the PAS and the angle sensor with a ground short intermittent would this then set other things off. Thanks any advice given would be great as chasing down a wiring fault will be a nightmare and expensive no doubt.

I'd lubricate the mechanism and check it's all shutting properly before going into the electrics.

Hi mate, sorry to hear about your boot problem but I was I wondering if you could tell me more about that PAS stuff, you said something about ground short intermittent? what is that?

I have this thread up where I'm trying to fix the PAS problem on my fabia classic

Any help from you mate? :D

I had a fault code show a ground positive short intermittent G250 steering angle sensor the PAS light will come on. If i stop the car and restart it the light goes out and does not show up again for days/weeks. The steering still feels fine with the light on, my local garage say it could be the sensor or the wiring to the sensor and the best cause of action is to get a VW specialist to do a diagnostic check as a VW computer will give a more clear reading as to if tis the sensor or the wiring. Only someone with the VW computer will be able to give you a clear answer, I did see on ebay someone selling the data cable and the VW software to go on a laptop for £24.99. I might look into buying it if genuine as I have a laptop.
