Replacement Seatbelt for 2004 Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Hey Guys

Need 2 new seatbelts with pretensioners for 04 Fabia vRS and have found them on ebay but salvage guy keeps asking do i need ones "wired into loom" or not? Thought they would be standard but apparently not. He says year doesn't make difference either.

It has side airbags (not sure if this helps).

Car came with standard inertia reel belts with no pretensioners (only found out when car went for NCT/mot :wall: ) so i can't just take them out and check.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Pretty sure all Fabia vRS seat belt pre tensioners are active so triggered by the ECU.

Are you saying someone has fitted different seat belt reels? If so eve the plug should be there. How have you found out you need 2 new seatbelts? Fault codes?

Yeah need 2 new ones as only ordinary reels in car. Some nice guy put a piece of tin foil in front of airbag light when i bought it and when it went to nct(mot) it failed on no light. Thats when the discovery of no pretensioners and various other things happened. :swear:

Quote from email from guy on ebay

"but need to know if yours are stanalone unwired to the cars wiring loom or wired ?"

and when i said wired to ecu he said

"i need to know if the seat belts are wired ?

some vrs's are some arn't seems the year doesn't matter !"

There is a wiring plug there but not sure if this is what he means or if that just goes to ecu.

Thanks for the help.
