Just thought I'd point it out before it's finished. Caraudiosecurity have a decent sale on. Just ordered a set of focal 165 polyglass VR slim components for £155 instead of the usual £200 - 250 they sell for everywhere else. Spent a lot of time dithering over what speakers to get and went for these as they should fit the slim fabia doors without too much buggering about and are meant to be excellent speakers. The whole focal range is reduced at the moment as is a lot of the JLaudio stuff.

Just need to decide what to do for an amp and sound deadening. Hoping to come up with a way to install everything subtly and possibly get a sub in somewhere. Looking forward to having speakers that don't break up at anything above conversation volume.

Thats good to know, i've recently blown one of my speakers and am looking to upgrade everything, amp up the fronts and sound deaden everything. Knowing about a sale has gotta be a good thing :)

You might find this thread useful, dug it out today. How to remove the door carriers - personally i've decided a full layer of sound deadening on the outer skin and most of the inner skin (at least around the speaker) then a few strips on the door card just to cancel out some vibrations.

I would love to hear how you get on with the slim speakers and whether they have the same depth of sound and response as a regular size speaker.

Well they have a 70Hz lower end response rather than the 60 Hz of the standard Focal polyglass VR speakers so they will drop off a bit sooner at the low end. Not sure how fast the drop off is though. I still think they will be a huge improvement. Thanks for that link.
