Faulty Heater?

Featured Replies

At this time of year I always leave my heater control knob set to Max, and I get a nice hot blast from it. For a while now though, the cars is forgetting this and Im getting lukewarm air unless I rotate the knob anticlockwise then back to Max, when usually hot air resumes. Sometimes no amount of twiddling will get roasting air though.

Back in the summer, I was getting the opposite... warm air instead of cold and rotating the knob cured it again. Now, I ve read similar posts on here and a mate at work had a Polo that did the same. My previous car, a smart did it too so is this an annoying feature of modern aircon systems or is there a fix?

I have the manual climatic aircon. What with the clunky suspension and rattly interior Im finding Skoda ownership not to be that great compared to my previous Fiats which never went wrong.

Remember that its been exceptionally cold just lately and you have to heat this cold air up when it enters the car.

Well, at my service yesterday the dealer plugged into the diagnostics and found the climatic control unit to be faulty... they are replacing it under warranty and I never even mentioned this issue! Glad I didnt do the service myself after all.

Yeah...that's the beauty of going to a proper Skoda dealer who can act right away on warranty issues. Everyone moans about dealers but they do know what they are doing...usually! Glad you have a good result Lemon and it's good to post stuff like this too.
